The thermal conductivity of polypropylene is small and the warmth is good. The strength of polypropylene filament is second only to that of nylon, and the size of the fabric is stable, the wear-resistant elasticity is also good, and the chemical stability is good. However, the thermal stability is poor, not resistant to sunlight, easy to aging brittle damage, for which chemical agents are often added to polypropylene. Near the flame, it melts and shrinks, flammable, burns slowly from the fire and gives off black smoke, emitting a petroleum smell, and the ashes are hard round light yellow brown particles after burning, which are easily broken by hand.
Polypropylene fiber (lightweight and warm): Polypropylene fiber is a lightweight fiber among common chemical fibers. It is almost non hygroscopic, but has good core absorption ability, high strength, stable fabric size, good wear resistance and elasticity, and good chemical stability. However, it has poor thermal stability, is not resistant to sunlight, and is prone to aging and brittle damage. Usage: It can be used to weave socks, mosquito net fabric, wet diapers, etc. In industry: carpets, fishing nets, canvas, medical straps replace cotton gauze, used as hygiene products.
