Performance of polypropylene filament

The initial modulus of polypropylene fiber filament is 35.3~105.8 cN/dtex, which is superior to polyamide fiber but inferior to polyester fiber. The instantaneous rebound of polypropylene fiber is between polyamide fiber and polyester fiber, and its rebound rate is 88% to 98% when extended to 5%. Polypropylene fibers are generally colored by pre spinning coloring method. Polypropylene fibers have the characteristics of high strength, high toughness, good chemical resistance, and low cost, making them widely used in industries and decoration fields.

Polypropylene fiber can be used to make underwear, ski shirts, socks, and children's clothing. It can also be used to make cold resistant outdoor clothing, motorcycle sportswear, mountaineering clothes, sailing clothes, and flying clothes.

Fine density polypropylene fibers have excellent core absorption effect, excellent breathability and moisture conductivity, and can keep the skin dry and without stuffiness when worn close to the body. Carpets are an important application field of polypropylene fibers today. Among various non-woven fabrics, the spunbond method has developed the fastest, and most of the spunbond non-woven fabrics are made of polypropylene.

Polypropylene woven geotextile plays a reinforcing role in civil engineering projects built on soft soil foundations (such as embankments, reservoirs, highways, railways, etc.), and evenly distributes the bearing load, making the roadbed settlement uniform and reducing ground cracking.

Polypropylene fibers can also be used for decorative fabrics, felt, canvas, packaging bags, cigarette filters, artificial lawns, and medical and health products.
