How to color polypropylene industrial yarn in production? Let's take a look together.
Polypropylene does not contain chemical groups that can bind with dyes in its macromolecular structure, making dyeing more difficult.
1. Using the melt coloring method, the pigment formulation and polypropylene polymer are uniformly mixed in a screw extruder, and the colored fibers obtained through melt spinning have high color fastness.
2. Copolymerize or graft copolymerize with acrylic acid, acrylonitrile, vinyl pyridine, etc. to introduce polar groups that can bind with dyes on polymer macromolecules, and then directly dye using conventional methods.
Various additives are often added in the production process of polypropylene to improve dyeing, light resistance, and flame resistance.
At the same time, polypropylene industrial yarn has advantages such as anti-aging, low heat shrinkage rate, and impact resistance. It can be processed into shirts, outerwear, sportswear, socks, etc. However, the existing polypropylene industrial yarn still has disadvantages such as weak flame retardancy and weak modification performance, making the produced clothes flammable and easy to scratch.
